General
a. This section contains troubleshooting information
for locating and correcting most of the operating troubles
which may develop in the generator set. Each
malfunction for an individual component, unit, or system
is followed by a lists of tests or inspections which will
help you to determine the probable causes and
corrective actions to take. You should perform the tests/
inspections and corrective actions in the order listed.

This manual cannot list all malfunctions that
may occur, nor all tests or inspections and corrective
actions.
If a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by listed
corrective actions, notify your supervisor.

General Instructions For Use of Multimeters
a. Introduction. In electrical troubleshooting, the
Simpson 160, the TS-362B/U, and the AN/URM-105 will
do the same job. Therefore, your shop sets may contain
any one of these multimeters (fig. 4-21). Any of these
three multimeters can be used to troubleshoot your
equipments electrial system. This section shows how.
